Randy's verdict"Not a great game"

Mario's Time Machine is an educational game for the Super Nintendo purchased by Randy at Blockbuster on July 2, 1994, for $25. He bought it believing it would be a time-travel platformer similar to Super Mario Brothers. It was not.

In the game, Bowser steals historical artifacts, and Mario must time-travel to return them. Randy criticized the game as educational and not entertaining, but noted it was at least completable — unlike Time Slip, another time-travel SNES game he found impossibly difficult without a Game Genie. Mario's Time Machine has a password system; Time Slip does not. Randy noted that a later PC game, Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego, executed the educational time-travel concept far better.
